Methods of Giving
CASH DONATIONS
Cash or checks are always acceptable. Annual gifts are receipted by the Cowboy Joe Club. The funds from the annual memberships are the life-blood of the Cowboy Joe club. Unrestricted donations are used to off-set the increased costs of scholarships, books, summer school, and other needed projects. Annual memberships must be paid by June 30th to receive full benefits.
CREDIT CARDS
The Cowboy Joe Club currently accepts Visa and MasterCard. Please list the name of the cardholder, the account number, the expiration date, and the amount of the gift. Again, to receive full benefits, please make your payment by June 30th of each year.
MATCHING GIFTS
Many companies will match your gift to the Cowboy Joe Club. Please check with your human resources department to receive matching gift information.
ESTATE GIFTS
Gifts through wills and bequests can provide you with benefits and the opportunity to sustain your family name. Estate gifts can be made with a designated amount, a real asset or a residual asset.
ENDOWMENTS
Endowments are essential to the future of UW Athletics. There are a multitude of endowment opportunities within UW Athletics. The endowment gifts may be made in one lump sum or over a designated period.
LIFE INCOME GIFTS
Charitable remainder trusts provide many advantages to donors as well as the UW Athletic Department. The trusts can be funded through cash, securities or real estate. They provide the donor with a guaranteed income for a set period or for life, while providing the Athletic Department with an endowed gift upon the completion of the trust or after the donor's lifetime. There may be advantageous tax benefits as well.
STEER-A-YEAR
The Steer-A-Year program is designed to provide the ranching community of the state with an opportunity to become closely tied to the UW Athletic program. Ranchers agree to donate a calf in the fall of the year to the Club. You can also join as a feed sponsor. For $150 a year you can support one calf. The Club sells the steers at an auction in the winter. The proceeds benefit athletes who graduated from Wyoming high schools as well as the UW Rodeo Team.
CALL THE COWBOY JOE CLUB AT 307/766-6242 FOR INFORMATION ON ANY OF
