March 23, 2001
LARAMIE, Wyo. - The University of Wyoming wrestling program will be
conducting two individual camps this summer for youth
ages 8-18. The camps will be conducted on the
University of Wyoming campus, and will be led by
Wyoming head coach Steven Suder and assistant coaches
Matt Johnson and Kevin Roberts.
A unique 10-day Intensive Training Camp will be held
June 18th-27th for ages 13-18. This camp is designed
for those wrestlers wishing to gain a competitive
advantage on their competition. Young wrestlers will
be placed in an environment where they will be tested
both physically and mentally.
On July 9th-13th, a Technique Camp focused on
developing the 'total wrestler' will be offered for
ages 8-18. Sessions include instruction on wrestling
technique in the three major styles of amatuer
wrestling: freestyle, collegiate, and greco roman.
There is also instruction on goal setting, weight
control, attitude, and nutrition.
The University of Wyoming is also in its fifth exciting year
with the Wrestling in the Rockies Team Camps!! This year
we are offering two exciting weeks of team camps, June
11th-15th and June 29th-July 3rd. Our team camps have
had great success and provide a unique combination of
competition, instruction, and team building. Year after year teams
continue to choose this camp over all others. Our camps are not too
large and provide loads of competitive wrestling, creating one of the
best team camps in the country.
Wrestlers who are interested are
encouraged to make reservations as soon as possible as
limited openings are available.
