At Wyoming:
Junior- Beard had another great season as a junior for the Cowgirls, finishing in the top-15 of three separate events at the 2006 MWC Championships. Her best finish came in the 200 IM where she placed 10th. She also placed 13th in the 400 IM and 15th in the 200 backstroke. Entering her senior year, she has the second fastest time in both individual medley events in Wyoming swimming history. She continued to excel in the classroom and was named a MWC Scholar Athlete and Academic All-MWC for the third consecutive season. She earned her third UW letter award.
Sophomore- Beard set a new school record in the 200 IM when she swam to a time of 2:05.63 at the 2005 MWC Championships. Her time was good for a second place finish and First Team All-MWC honors. She also placed sixth in the 400 IM, 15th in the 200 backstroke and was a member of the 800 freestyle relay team at conference. She excelled academically and was selected as both a MWC Scholar Athlete and as an Academic All-Conference honoree for the second consecutive year. She earned her second letter award.
Freshman- She had a breakout performance at the 2004 MWC Championships where she helped earn the Cowgirls 67 teams points. She was a member of the school record setting 800 freestyle relay team and was also a member of the 400 medley relay team. Individually, she finished fifth in the 200 and 400 IM's swimming the second fastest times in UW history in both distances at the time. She also finished sixth in the 200 backstroke.
High School: A Canadian national qualifier in the 200 backstroke. She placed second at regionals and second at provincials in the 400 IM.
Personal: Born September 1, 1984 in Burlington, Ontario. She is the daughter of Chris and Larry Beard and is majoring in business administration.
