Cowgirl Swimmers And Divers Ready For Mountain West Championships

The Cowgirls Return Three Individual All-MW Performers And Three All-MW Relay Squads

Freshman: (2010-11)- Hartigan was a key member of the Cowgirl relay teams at the 2011 Mountain West Championships. She helped the 400 medley and 200 freestyle relay teams to top-three finishes at the conference championships. She and her teammates in the 400 medley relay placed second with a time of 3:38.62. She also helped the 200 freestyle relay team to a third-place finish with a time of 1:31.37. For her performances with the relay squads she earned All-MW honors for the first time in her Cowgirl career. Individually at the MW championships she swam in the 50 free and the 100 breaststroke. In the 50 free she placed 16th and in the 100 breast she placed 14th. Hartigan also had an excellent summer swimming season for UW posting a Olympic trial cut time of 1:11.88 (long course time) in the 100 breaststroke at the summer national meet. She earned her first Academic All-MW and MW Scholar-Athlete awards. She also earned her first Cowgirl letter award.

High School: Hartigan was one of the fastest swimmers in Wyoming throughout high school. She was named All-American in 2008 and 2009 in the 100 breaststroke. She was also state champion in the 100 breast and 100 fly. She was named Wyoming Female Athlete of the Year by the Wyoming Tribune-Eagle in 2009. She was also a member of the 4.0 honor roll from her freshman year to her senior year.

Personal: She was born on Jan. 19, 1992 in Cheyenne, Wyo. She is the daughter of Joseph Hartigan and Kelly Wright. She is majoring in kinesiology and health promotion at UW.
