Alderman Named To 1999-2000 GTE Academic All-District VII Second-Team

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

Wyoming senior diver Dominy Alderman was named to the 1999-2000 GTE Academic All-District VII Second-Team at-large squad for women's fall/winter sports. Alderman, from Anchorage, Alaska, is majoring in elementary education and has a cumulative GPA of 3.78.

During the 1999-2000 swimming and diving season, Alderman helped the Cowgirls to one of their best seasons ever, finishing with a dual meet record of 7-1 and a fourth-place finish at the inaugural Mountain West Conference Championships. The Cowgirls also defeated rival Colorado State for the first time in school history.

Individually Alderman placed sixth at the MWC championships on the platform, seventh on the one-meter springboard and 14th on the three-meter springboard. She recorded a career best score on the three-meter (403.45) at the Air Force Diving Invite, placing third in the same event. She was named Mountain West Conference Diver of the Week Nov. 17, 1999, and also qualified and competed at the 2000 NCAA Zone "E" Diving Championships.

Alderman has left her mark in the record books at UW having the third best mark in the platform in school history and the seventh best dive in the three-meter. She has also been named a two-time Academic All-Conference and Academic Scholar-Athlete selection.
