LARAMIE, Wyo. -

University of Wyoming swimming and diving coach Tom Johnson announced on Wednesday the signing of three student athletes to national letters of intent. Marshall Dilworth, Brett Henehan and Kyle Wemhoff will all enroll at UW for the fall semester of 2008 and join the Cowboy swimming team.

"This is a great group of guys and I am very excited about what they will add to our team," said Johnson. "These three will team with Brandon Fischer and Tyler Kybartas, whom we signed in the fall, to give us a very strong recruiting class that will contribute greatly to our program. These guys will help rectify some of our losses from this past year, especially in the IM events. We will also be much better in the distance freestyle and backstroke events with the addition of this class."

Following is a look at the 2008 Cowboy swimming spring signing class:

Marshall Dilworth

Marshall Dilworth, Backstroke, Butterlfy and IM, Peoria, Ariz. (Sunrise High School)
Marshall Dilworth comes to the University of Wyoming from Peoria, Ariz. where he was a high school All-American swimmer. He attended and swam for Sunrise High School as well as the Glendale Gauchos swim club. At last fall's 2007 Arizona High School 5A-Divison II State Championship meet, Marshall won the state title in the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke. His times in both events were good for automatic All-America honors. Marshall is also a junior national qualifier in the 100 backstroke, 100 butterfly and 400 IM. He is not only a very versatile and talented athlete, but also a tremendous student. He carries a 3.8 grade point average and has completed 30 college credits already.

"We are very excited to have Marshall join our program," Johnson said. "Marshall is not only a versatile and talented swimmer who will help us in many areas, he is a tremendous young man. He will add depth and talent to our IM and backstroke events and will also help contribute to our relays."

Brett Henehan

Brett Henehan, Distance Freestyle, Auckland, New Zealand (Auckland University)
Brett Henehan, a native of Auckland, New Zealand, will transfer to the University of Wyoming from Auckland University. Henehan is a distance specialist who will compete in the 500, 1000 and 1650 freestyle events and possibly even the 400 IM. In Auckland, Henehan competed for the Howick and Pakuranga swim clubs. Last month, he competed in the 400 and 1500-meter freestyles at New Zealand's Olympic Trials. Henehan is also an avid open water swimmer. After transferring to UW, Henehan will have three years of remaining eligibility.

"Brett will add tremendous depth to our distance events. He has competed at a very high level in New Zealand and he has a great deal of experience in the sport," said Johnson.

Kyle Wemhoff

Kyle Wemhoff, Freestyle, Norfolk, Neb. (Norfolk Catholic High School)
Kyle Wemhoff, a high school All-American and five time Nebraska state champion from Norfolk, Neb., will travel across the Nebraska/Wyoming state line to continue his swimming career at the University of Wyoming. Wemhoff swam for and attended Norfolk Catholic High School and also swam club for the Norfolk YMCA Aquajets. Wemhoff won the 500 freestyle Nebraska state championship all four years of his high school career and swam high school All-America times in the event as a junior and senior. Wemhoff was also the Nebraska state champion in the 200 freestyle his senior year and the runner-up in the event as a junior. He swam the 200 freestyle in All-America time considerations as both a junior and senior. He is also a junior national qualifier in the 200 freestyle. Aside from swimming, Wemhoff ran cross country and track at Norfolk Catholic.

"Kyle will add much needed depth to our distance events and can also contribute to our 800 free relay," said Johnson. "With the addition of Kyle, it is nice to continue a great recruiting pipeline from Nebraska as he joins a long line of very good swimmers we have had from the state."
