Wyoming Swimming And Diving Inks Two Student-Athletes

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

University of Wyoming head swimming and diving coach Tom Johnson announced today the signing of two student-athletes to national letters of intent to attend the University of Wyoming in the fall of 2000. Here are the signees:

Shea Boyle, Evanston, Wyo.:

A three-time All-State selection at Evanston High School. She was the runner up at the 1999 Wyoming 4A State Championship in the 1-meter springboard. Boyle is the daughter of Pam and Casey Boyle. Her mother was an All-American swimmer at Wyoming and is the current swimming coach at Evanston, while her father is the head diving coach at Evanston.

"Shea is an aggressive and very powerful diver," said diving coach Jason Baumann. "She has the potential to become a finalist in our conference, and will be a great addition to our program. Her enthusiasm and hard work will help her improve rapidly."

Crystal Meacham, Ft. Collins, Colo.:

As a senior at Rocky Mountain High School, she placed sixth at the Colorado High School State Meet in the 100 Breaststroke. She also competed at this year's National Championships in the 400 Medley Relay. Meacham competes with the Fort Collins Area Swim Team, which is coached by Jerry Neufeld. She was coached in high school by Katie Englehardt and Sarah McNaught. Crystal is the daughter of Steve and Carolyn Meacham

"I have know Crystal from a very young age," said head coach Tom Johnson. "Crystal has a great competitive spirit and loves to race. She is a strong 100 and 200 breaststroker, and we will look for her to add depth in the Individual Medley's."
