Wyoming Swimming And Diving Signs One Student-Athlete

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

University of Wyoming head swimming and diving coach Tom Johnson announced today the signing of a student-athlete to a national letter of intent to attend the University of Wyoming in the fall of 2000. Here is the signee:

Brad Leopold, Fond du Lac, Wisc.:

An excellent athlete from Goodrich High School, Leopold currently has qualifying times for the Junior Nationals in the backstroke. He is also a member of the Mequon Area Swim Team, which is coached by Wes Sinclair. Leopold is a tremendous student, as he was chosen USA Swimming Academic All-American and is a National Merit scholarship semi-finalist. He was coached in high school by Glen McBride. Brad is the son of Janice and John Leopold.

"We are very excited to have signed Brad," said Johnson. "He will be a great addition to our backstroke group, and will make the medley relays much more competitive. Along with being an excellent student, he is a great competitor and is very goal oriented."
