UW's Delgado Named MWC Diver Of The Week
Nov. 4, 1999 LARAMIE, Wyo. - UW sophomore Oscar Delgado was named MWC men's diver of the week after his performance at the Early Bird Invite last weekend. Delgado, a sophomore from Covina, Calif., won both the 1-Meter and 3-Meter Diving competitions at the Early Bird Invitational in Fort Collins, Colo., Oct. 22-23. In the 1-Meter event, Delgado's score of 462.00 was 4.40 points higher than the second-place finisher. In the 3-Meter competition, Delgado cruised to the first-place finish with a score of 479.75, 62.25 points ahead of the next diver. Last season as a freshman, Delgado competed in three events at the NCAA Championships. He dove in the
1-meter, 3-meter and the platform events. He placed in the top 30 in each of
the events.
