Next Meet For Wyoming:

The men's and women's teams will not compete again until January 6, 2001, when they dual with Central Connecticut State in Flagstaff, Ariz.

Wyoming will travel to Salt Lake City, Utah Jan. 12, 2001, to open up its conference dual schedule against the University of Utah.

Husky Invitational (Dec. 1-3): Head Coach Tom Johnson took a small squad of Wyoming swimmers to the 53rd annual Husky Invitational in Seattle, Wash., this past weekend.

The invite was attended by 30 women's and 33 men's teams with the majority of the them being high school level club teams.

In the collegiate division, the UW women placed fourth behind host Washington, the University of Nevada and the University of Puget Sound. The Wyoming men placed second behind Washington overall. The Wyoming and Washington men also swam a five event scoring dual with the Huskies winning 70.5 - 21.5.

UW's overall team scores would have been higher but they did not stay to compete in the finals late Sunday evening.

Sophomore Damian Storz had an outstanding meet, placing first in the 400 IM (4:01.94), second in the 200 IM (1:54.93) and second in the 1000 free (9:23.45). Storz' time in the 1000 free was the third best time in that event in UW history.

Other top ten finishers for the Cowboys were senior Al Jarrell who placed fifth in both the 200 IM (1:55.80) and the 400 IM (4:07.36), sophomore Jake Weidert was fourth in the 400 IM (4:06.63) and ninth in the 200 IM (1:56.68), junior Guy Fulfer placed third in the 200 free (1:41.45), senior Jason Garman placed eighth in the 50 free (21.49), senior Buddy Boysen finished eighth in the 100 back (54.52) and sophomore Ted Dibble placed tenth in the 200 free (1:44.45).

The Cowgirls only had two top ten finishers, sophomore Angie Sax and sophomore Mabry Fiddler. Sax placed fifth in the 100 fly with a time of 57.45 and Fiddler placed eighth in the 400 IM with a time of 4:32.25. Fiddler's time was the fourth best time in UW history in the 400 IM.

BYU Diving Invite (Dec. 1-2): Seven members of the Wyoming diving team competed at the BYU Diving Invite In Provo, Utah.

On the men's side, junior Oscar Delgado placed sixth on both the 1-meter (296.50) and 3-meter (462.55) springboard events. Senior Christian Brienza placed seventh on the 1-meter (252.10) and eighth on the 3-meter (399.20) and freshman Tony Gleason placed tenth on the 1-meter (198.80) and ninth on the 3-meter (298.65).

The Cowgirls had a strong showing on the 3-meter with senior Wendy O'Connell leading the way with a fifth-place finish with a score of 402.90. Sophomore Lauren Colaric finished right behind O'Connell in sixth with a score of 399.75, freshman Channing Kimball placed seventh (385.70) and freshman Katy Byington placed 16th (319.40).

The UW women qualified all four divers for the semifinals on the 1-meter, however none of them made the finals. O'Connell was one place away from advancing to the finals with a ninth-place finish in the semifinals on the 1-meter (208.80).

Women's Dual vs. Northern Colorado (Nov. 20): The University of Wyoming Cowgirl swimming and diving team dominated Northern Colorado in its second home dual meet of the season at Corbett Pool, winning every event on its way to a convincing 202-94 victory.

The Cowgirls, who improved their season dual record to 3-0 overall, swept the top three places in six of 16 events against the Bears. UW also had five athletes win two events each.
