2007-08... John had a very successful 2007-08 campaign as he qualified for the regional meet in the triple jump as well as being named to the All-Mountain West Conference team during both the indoor season and outdoor season. During the indoor season he had the second best mark in the conference in both the long jump and triple jump. While at the conference championships, held in Colorado Springs, Colo., he took second place in the triple jump and third place in the long jump. During the outdoor season he was the proud owner of the second best triple jump in the conference and the third best long jump. At the MWC Championships in Fort Worth, Tex., he placed third in both events, earning him his fourth All-MWC honors. For his achievements in the classroom John was named to the Academic All-Conference team for the second time in his career. 2006-07... John was an All-Conference selection in the triple jump and long jump, he finished third in the long jump at the Outdoor MWC Championships. He also placed second in the triple jump at the Indoor Championships with a leap of 48' 3/4". John earned Academic All-Conference honors as well. 2005-06... John red-shirted during the indoor season and placed third at the outdoor Jack Christiansen Invite in the triple jump. High School... John was a three-year letterman in football and track. He set school records in the 4x100m, the long jump and the triple jump. Personal... John was born June 2nd, 1986 in Boulder, Colo. His parents are Nanci and Dave Alderson.
