Heaston earned her first letter as a Cowgirl trackster, and set three personal records in the 100-, 200- and 400-meter dashes. She finished 14th in the 400 at both the indoor and outdoor conference championships. She was among the top five on the team in three events and she'll be counted on to improve this season. She was named to the Academic All-Conference and Scholar-Athlete squad for her work in the classroom. 2009-10... Heaston was a valuable member of the Cowgirl sprint contingent as a freshman. She made her mark early on, posting the fourth-best time in the 100-meter dash at 12.82 seconds, and the third-best times in the 200 (25.82) and 400 (59.16). She also was fourth in the 60-meter dash, with a mark of 8.03 seconds. High School... Heaston was a three-year letterman in swimming while lettering twice in track and field. While at Cherry Creek High School, she was selected all-conference in 2008-09, while her team won the Centennial League in 2009 on the track. Academically, she was on the honor roll from 2006-09 and was selected to the academic all-conference team as well. Personal... Heaston was born in Memphis, Tenn., to Jane and Rick Heaston. Her father Rick played basketball for the University of South Florida, and she has two older siblings, Parker and Taylor.
