Alan returns after sitting out the 2009 indoor and outdoor seasons. He placed eighth in the Hammer Throw at the 2008 NCAA Midwest Regional Championships hitting a big personal best and coming up just less than five feet from making the cut to the NCAA Championship meet. At the conference meet, Alan finished just short of All-Conference honors in the Hammer Throw with his fourth-place finish. He ended the season ranked ninth all-time in UW history in the Hammer Throw and 15th all-time in the 35lb Weight Throw.
