2007-08... A letterwinner in both indoor and outdoor track, Alan really came on towards the end of the year as he qualified for Regionals and placed eighth in the hammer throw, just five feet short of making it to the NCAA Championships. John, broke into the top ten in Wyoming history his freshman campaign with his toss of 199' 1" in the hammer throw. He owned the fifth best throw in the conference and placed fourth at the Mountain West Conference Championships in Fort Worth, Tex. During the indoor season he had the sixth best weight throw in the conference and placed eighth at the MWC Championships. 2006-07... Alan redshirted last season and learned the technique of the hammer throw event. He had an outstanding performance at the Junior National Championships where he upset much of the field, who had prior hammer throw experience. Alan ended up placing third and qualifying for the Pan American Junior Championships.
