2007-08... Lambert was an All-Conference selection during the indoor season for his performance at the Mountain West Conference Championships in Colorado Springs, Colo. He owned the third best weight throw in the conference and placed third at the Championships. He had the fifth best shot put in the conference and placed fourth at the conference meet. Sam qualified provisionally in the weight throw for the NCAA Championships but missed the mark by 10 inches to compete in the meet. Sam redshirted during the outdoor season.

2006-07... Sam, a transfer from Iowa Central, was runner-up at the National Junior College Championships in the weight throw, third in the hammer throw and seventh in the shot put. He tied the mark for second best All-Time in the weight throw in Junior College history.
