Michel battled injuries this year and only competed in three meets. Of the three, he recorded a first-place finish in the long jump at the Jack Christensen Invite with a jump of 23-4. He finished in the top 10 in all the events in which he competed. Michel earned an Academic All-Conference and Scholar-Athlete accolades. 2009-10... Michel was the do-everything athlete for the Cowboys, setting the team-high marks in several events. Michel was a stellar sprinter in both the 100- and 60-meter dashes and a critical part of the 4-by-100-meter relay that notched a time of 40.54 seconds. He also excels at the jumping events, evidenced by his performance at the MWC Championships in the triple jump, when he leaped to a mark of 50 feet, 3 ¼ inches. He also had the third-best mark in the long jump at 24-3 ½. 2008-09... Michel competed in the first meet of the year where he won the triple jump and 55-meter dash, along with placing second in the long jump. He earned a medical redshirt. High School... Michel was one of the most successful track and field athletes to come out of Laramie High with his dominating performances at the state championships throughout his career. During the outdoor seasons, he was an All-American his senior year as well as a state champion in four events his junior and senior year (100-meter, 200-meter, triple jump and long jump). He set state records in the 100-meter dash, the 200-meter dash and the triple jump. Michel was even more dominating during the indoor season, with seven individual state championships in three years in 55 meter, 200 meter, triple jump and the long jump. He set three state records in the 55-meter dash, the 200-meter dash and the triple jump. Academically, Michel was on the National Honor Society all four years, as well as maintaining a 4.0 GPA throughout high school. Personal...
