2007-08... A letterwinner in both the indoor and outdoor seasons as he took the reins for the multi-events. During the indoor season he showed his versatility at the Mountain West Conference Championships as he placed seventh with 4,566 points a mark that placed him fourth best in Wyoming history. At that meet he placed third in the 1,000-meter race and fourth in the 60-meter hurdles. In Fort Worth, Tex., at the outdoor MWC Championships he placed seventh in the decathlon scoring a total of 6,092 points. During the competition, he won the 400-meter dash, and placed third and fourth in the 100-meter dash and 110-meter hurdles respectively. 2006-07... In Jay's freshman season, he placed fifth and sixth in the 110m hurdles and 400m hurdles at the Jack Christiansen Invite in Fort Collins, Colo. He looks to improve on his sixth place finish in the 60m hurdles where he ran a 8.62. High School... Jay was a two-year letterman in football as well as lettering all four years in track and field. Jay was twice named the Athlete of the Meet. Personal... Jay was born July 1st, 1987 in Mesa, Ariz. He is the son of Julie and former Nebraska QB Roy Petsch.
