Skinner recorded two career marks in the indoor and outdoor seasons and cemented his place as the team's best high jumper. He set a UW all-time mark with a leap of 7 feet, 1/4 inch in the outdoor season, good for fourth on UW's all-time list. He finished second in the MWC Championships during both seasons in the high jump. He was an NCAA regional qualifier in the high jump. He was chosen as the most valuable field athlete by the coaching staff. 2009-10... Though just a freshman, Skinner showed his promise as a high jumper throughout both the indoor and outdoor seasons, winning three the event three times and taking two runner-up titles. He set a personal record with a leap of 6 feet, 8 inches at the Front Range Classic and was regularly among the leaders at each meet. He finished fourth in the MWC Indoor Championships. High School... At Star Valley High School, Skinner participated in track and field and cross country. While there, he was able to set or be a part of four school records. He owns the indoor record for high jump, triple jump and the 4-by-400-meter relay. In outdoor track, he owns a share of the 4-by-400-meter relay record, as well. Skinner was all-state in 2009 in both the high jump and triple jump during the indoor season. Academically, he was awarded the WHSAA Distinguished Scholar Award twice in his career. Personal... Skinner was born March 15 in Salt Lake City to his parents Maureen and Jody Skinner. He intends to major in secondary education and wants to become a history teacher and a coach someday.
