Gifford ran for the Cowboys early in the season, with just one appearance in the last three events. His best finish of the year came in the Woody Greeno Invite in Lincoln, Neb., beating out 190 runners to finish 105th. That time helped the Cowboys finish first overall, the program's first victory in the event's history. He also contributed to the Cowboy track contingent, providing depth for the distance events like the 1,500- and 3,000-meter runs. 2009-10... Tyler, who has earned a letter, showed his ability early on in the Wyoming Invitational, nabbing 23rd in the event with a time of 23:36. He also finished 40th in the MWC Championships, finishing in 27:22. He also was named to the academic All-MWC team for his work in the classroom. High School... Tyler was a four-year letterman in football, wrestling, and track and field. In track and field, he was the State Champion in the 3,200-meter run his senior year while during his wrestling career he was a state champion twice and currently holds the state record in career wins and career pins. He also was the student council president, the National Honor Society president and had a 4.0 GPA throughout high school. Personal...
