Greeley, Colo. - The University of Wyoming cross country teams raced to second and fourth place finishes, respectively, at the Northern Colorado Invitational Saturday in Greeley, Colo. The Cowgirls captured second place with a team score of 65 while the Cowboys ran to a fourth place finish with 81 points.

Jennifer Thompson paced the Cowgirls in the women's 5k race. The junior crossed the finish line in 19:07 to place 5th overall. Junior Ashley Pederson took 10th place with a time of 19:33 while junior Natalie Kean followed in 12th place with a time of 19:37. Other Cowgirls that paced the team to their best finish of the season were sophomore Emeral Reid (20th, 20:02), junior Rachel Stacy (26th, 20:12), freshman Lauren Tonoli (31st, 20:20), sophomore Christine Michel (35th, 20:31), sophomore Kristen Braunies (44th, 20:43), senior Jennifer Mansell (45th, 20:44), sophomore Shannon Obermire (60th, 21:22), sophomore Maggie Diller (62nd, 21:37), and sophomore Amber Barlow (74th, 22:15). UW's Brian Knight led the Cowboys once again as he crossed the finish line in the men's 8k race in 26:22 for a third place finish. Knight has been the Pokes top finisher in each race this season. Senior Jason Delaney finished 15th with a time of 27:02. Sophomore Ragen Driver finished with a time of 27:03 to place 17th, while freshman Jason Sanders finished 25th clocking in at 27:32. Other Cowboy finishers were senior Kyle Chessebrough (29th, 27:59), and sophomore Brian Harnisch (64th, 32:01).

The Cowboy and Cowgirl harriers will next compete at the Mountain West Conference Cross Country Championships in San Diego, Calif. on Nov. 1st.
