COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Wyoming junior Philemon Tanui and Air Force senior Nicole Graham have been selected as the Mountain West Conference men's and women's cross country athletes of the week, respectively.

Tanui, an Eldoret, Kenya, native, brought home a fourth-place finish (out of 319 competitors) in his Cowboy debut at the Woody Greeno Invitational last week in Lincoln, Neb. He finished the 8k race in a MWC season-best 25:13, helping Wyoming to a fourth-place finish in the men's university division. Tanui is the first Wyoming men's runner to be named MWC Athlete of the Week in the seven-year history of the league.

Graham, from Blue Springs, Mo., crossed the finish line fourth overall at the Woody Greeno Invite on Saturday. Her time of 22:06 is a season-best and the second-fastest time in the MWC this season, as the Falcons finished third overall in the nine-team university division.
