2011-12: Bentz played in 10 games during the 2011-12 season, averaging two minutes of action. He earned one assist and one steal. Bentz played a season-high four minutes against Western State on Nov. 12. Before Wyoming: Bentz was a four-time letterwinner for Coach Terry Lipford at University School in Cleveland, Ohio. During his senior season in 2010-11, he averaged more than 17 points, six assists and four rebounds per game to pace the team to a 17-6 record. For his efforts, he earned All-Conference and All-District honors, while also being named team MVP and team captain. Bentz helped guide his team to conference titles his final two seasons, and an appearance in the district and regional tournaments as a sophomore. Bentz and fellow freshman Larry Nance Jr. played on the same AAU team in Ohio. In the classroom, he was on the honor roll all four years, while serving as a School Prefect as a junior and senior. He was awarded the school's Aurelian Award as a senior. Personal: Bentz was born on Feb. 3, 1993 in Cleveland, Ohio. He is the son of Chad and Jennifer Bentz and has one older sister, Martha, and one younger brother, Sam. He is majoring in business. |
