2001-02 (Senior): Paris Corner will be a valuable member of the Cowboy squad his senior season. He and fellow senior Chris McMillian are the two most experienced guards on the 2000-01 Cowboy squad. Corner will once again play a dual role for the Pokes. He can play both the point-guard spot, as well as providing the Pokes with excellent three-point shooting from the two-guard position. He played his first two seasons in the Big 12 Conference at Iowa State before transferring to Wyoming.

2000-01 (Redshirt Junior): Corner played in all 30 games in his first year competing for Wyoming. He averaged 4.1 points per game, 1.3 rebounds and 0.9 assists. He scored a career high 14 points twice -- the first time in keying a 72-65 home victory over Wichita State on Dec. 30, 2000, and the second time at Brigham Young on Feb. 15, 2001. In that BYU game, Corner also played a career high 27 minutes, pulled down a personal best five rebounds and was credited with a career best two steals. He handed out a career high five assists on Jan. 8, 2001, at Utah. He scored in double figures in four games during the 2000-01 season. In addition to his two 14-point games, he scored 11 in a 78-74 home win over Creighton, and tallied 12 in a 92-64 home victory over Delaware State.

1999-2000 (Junior): Corner transferred to the University of Wyoming from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. Corner practiced with the Cowboys but had to sit out of competition to satisfy NCAA transfer requirements.

1998-99 (Sophomore at Iowa State): His sophomore season, Corner appeared in 21 games, starting one. He averaged 4.0 points, 1.5 assists and 1.8 rebounds per contest. Enjoyed a three-game stretch in December of '98 where he scored in double figures in all three games -- 10 vs. Fresno State, 13 versus Northern Iowa and 10 vs. North Texas. In the last eight games of the '98-'99 season, he increased his production, averaging 21 minutes per game, 4.6 points and 2.1 assists. The best scoring game of his career came against Northern Iowa on Dec. 2, 1998, when he scored 13 points. He also played a career high 30 minutes against Northern Iowa. He pulled down a career high four rebounds on four different occasions. His best scoring game in a Big 12 game was nine versus Baylor. Also scored seven on two occasions -- both against Kansas State. He participated as a reading/writing pal for students at Ames' Northwood Elementary School while at Iowa state.

1997-98 (Freshman at Iowa State): During his freshman season of 1997-98 at Iowa State, Corner played in 18 games and started three. He averaged 1.6 points, 0.5 assists and 0.2 rebounds per game while playing seven minutes per game. In his first college start against Nebraska on Feb. 28, 1998, he scored five points and handed out two assists in 12 minutes of play. He scored a season high six points versus Colorado.

High School/Personal: A First Team All-State selection in high school at West Brook High School in Beaumont, Texas. He also earned All-Greater Houston-area honors. Corner led his high school team to a 31-6 record and the Class 5A Regional finals. He was named the District 22-5A most valuable player, while averaging 20.4 points and 5.5 assists per game. He was a 54 percent shooter from the field, including 46 percent from the three-point arc. Also hit 81 percent of his free throws. His junior season, he averaged 19.7 points and 6.0 assists per contest. He moved to Houston from San Diego, Calif., prior to his junior season of high school. Other schools that recruited him out of high school were Minnesota, TCU, Tulane and USC. Coached in high school by Chris Coleman. Born Feb. 13, 1979, in San Diego, Calif. He is the son of Beverly and Kennis Jones, and has two siblings, Pierre and Golden. He is majoring in social science.
