2009-10: James Dean transferred to Wyoming from Wisconsin-Milwaukee prior to the 2009-10 season. He walked on to the Cowboy basketball program and will add depth to the guard position. While he must sit out of competition during 2009-10 to satisfy NCAA transfer rules, he will be able to practice with the Cowboys throughout the season. Before Wyoming: As a true freshman at Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Dean played in four games for the Panthers. Wisconsin-Milwaukee finished the 2008-09 season with a 17-14 overall record and an 11-7 Horizon League record. Dean, a Las Vegas, Nev. native, prepped at Centennial High School. He then spent the 2007-08 season at Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Va. As a senior at Centennial High School, Dean averaged 16.5 points a game. He was a Second Team All-State selection and was his team's MVP. He was also a stellar student and was named Academic All-State, while also being a member of the National Honor Society. He was the valedictorian of his class at Centennial High School. Personal: Dean was born on Dec. 9, 1989 in Upland, Calif. He is the son of Denise and Paul and has a younger brother named Cody. Out of high school, Dean also considered attending Dartmouth, Stanford, Brown and Yale. He is majoring in civil engineering. |
