2000-2001 (Senior): Brett McFall is the lone senior on this year's Cowboy squad. He suffered a broken bone to his left foot late in the summer of 2000, but it is hoped that he will be healthy by the time the season starts in early November. McFall can play both guard spots, and brings a great deal of experience to the Cowboy backcourt. A fan favorite, McFall is one of the most exciting passers in the Mountain West Conference. He will also be one of the top returning three-point shooters in the country this season, having ranked No. 16 in the nation as a junior. McFall enters his senior season ranked No. 9 in career threes at UW (91), and also ranks No. 9 in school history in career three-point field goal attempts (253). Whether he plays in a starting role or coming off the bench, he always gives the Cowboys a lift when he is on the court.

1999-2000 (Junior): McFall had an outstanding junior season. He ranked No. 16 in the nation in three-point field goal percentage, shooting 46.0 percent from the three-point arc (57 of 124). He also led the Cowboys in three-point field goals made (57) for the season. McFall appeared in all 31 games for the Pokes. He scored in double figures in 11 of those games, and had one 20-point performance, scoring 20 versus Hawai'i Pacific on Nov. 26, 1999, in a 110-65 Wyoming road victory. His best game versus a conference opponent came in the MWC Tournament when he scored 17 points against UNLV in the Tournament Semifinals. His 2.8 assist-per-game average ranked third on the Cowboy squad. He ranked in the Top 30 in the Mountain West Conference in four statistical categories -- No. 27 in scoring (8.4 ppg), No. 5 in three-point field goal percentage (.460), No. 6 in three-point field goals made per game (1.84) and No. 12 in assists (2.8 apg).

1998-99 (Sophomore): McFall saved perhaps his best game of the season for Wyoming's NIT First Round game versus USC in Laramie. McFall scored a season high 11 points and grabbed a season high six rebounds in the win over the Trojans. He also handed out eight assists against Southern Cal -- one shy of his season and career best. Played a career high 29 minutes against Colorado State on Feb. 20, 1999. Had excellent games vs. Tulsa (eight points, nine assists) and UNLV (eight points, four rebounds, eight assists) both on the road. Played a key role in home win over then No. 20 ranked TCU in the Double A on Jan. 14, 1999, scoring six points and handing out seven assists. Played in 26 of Wyoming's 28 games. Averaged 4.9 points, 2.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. His 3.6 assist average ranked him No. 14 in the WAC in that category.

1997-98 (Freshman): McFall played in 27 of Wyoming's 28 games as a freshman. He averaged 3.4 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 12.9 minutes per game. He had an outstanding game at Creighton, scoring a season high 17 points on 4 of 7 shooting from the field (57.1 percent) and 3 of 6 shooting from three-point range (50.0 percent).

High School/Personal: McFall was named the top senior basketball player in the state of Kansas his senior year, earning the Mr. Kansas Basketball award as chosen by the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association. He led Olathe South High School to the 1997 6A State Championship, the largest classification in Kansas. McFall was also selected First Team All-State for all classifications by the Associated Press, Wichita Eagle-Beacon, Topeka Capitol-Journal and the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association. McFall played in three high school all-star games at the conclusion of his senior season: the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association All-Star game; the Mo-Kan All-Star game (for the states of Missouri and Kansas); and the Greater Kansas City Basketball Coaches Association All-Star game. He was named the MVP of the Mo-Kan All-Star game, and was nominated for the Kansas City Sports Commission Male Athlete of the Year award.

At the conclusion of his high-school career, McFall was his high school’s career scoring and assist leader. He averaged 20.1 points, 4.7 assists and 4.6 steals as a senior, shooting 50 percent from the field, 40 percent from three-point range and 74 percent from the free-throw line. For his career, he averaged 15.5 points, 5.1 assists and 3.7 steals.

A National Honor Society member, he was born March 28, 1979, and is the son of Gina and John McFall. He was coached in high school by his father. He has one older sister, Manda; one younger sister, Kim; and two younger brothers, Jeremy and Clint. McFall was also recruited by Iowa State and Oklahoma State. He is majoring in secondary education with an emphasis in social studies.
