2008-09: After redshirting last season as a true freshman, Afam Muojeke will see his first action for the Cowboys this season. After gaining a year of experience in the Cowboy system through practice, the coaching staff is very excited about Afam getting on the floor. He is a long, athletic wing with a great deal of potential. The coaching staff sees Muojeke making a big impact this season as a redshirt freshman. 2007-08: Muojeke redshirted his true freshman season of 2007-08. High School/Personal: Muojeke attended Genesis One Preparatory School in Mendenhall, Miss. where he averaged 23.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. He helped lead Genesis One to a 21-14 record in 2006-07. Genesis One was ranked as high as No. 8 in the nation among prep schools by HoopsUSA.com. It concluded the 2006-07 season as the consolation champion at the National Association of Christian Athletes (NACA) National Tournament in Dayton, Tenn. His first season at Genesis One, Muojeke averaged 21 points, six rebounds and six assists. His prep school coach was Vic Evans. "I think that Afam Muojeke has all of the tools to be a fabulous player," said Schroyer. "The word potential has been thrown around him for a long time. He is 6'7", very long and athletic, and he can score in bunches. I think that redshirting last year was a huge advantage for Afam. I look for him to have an immediate impact for this team and be a focal point for this program. I have known Afam for a long time, personally, and I think he has a chance to be a tremendous offensive player." Born July 7, 1988, Muojeke is originally from Jamaica, N.Y. His parents are Eucharia and John Muojeke. Muojeke was also recruited by Colorado, Minnesota, New Mexico, Ole Miss, Pepperdine and Tennessee. He has not yet decided on a college major. |
