A Jackson native, Watsabaugh is a very intelligent player who helps the Cowboys in numerous ways. While he has only played in nine career games, his impact is far deeper than minutes played. 2010-11: Watsabaugh used his redshirt year during the 2010-11 season. He was able to practice with the team and participate in most team activities during his redshirt year of 2010-11. 2009-10: In his first year at Wyoming, Watsabaugh played in nine games. His best game came against Adams State, as he scored a career high six points. Those six points were six of Wyoming's final eight points and helped set the all-time school record for points in a game with 123. He scored the final basket of the game with 13 seconds remaining to seal the record. He played in his first career game at Wyoming on Nov. 13 against South Dakota State. He scored his first career points and pulled down his first two career rebounds in UW's win over Peru State on Nov. 18. Before Wyoming: Watsabaugh enjoyed a two-year junior college career at West Hills College in Coalinga, Calif. At West Hills, Watsabaugh was a 2008-09 Central Valley All-Conference performer and was named to the Central Valley All-Defensive Team. He also received West Hills team awards including; Best Defense, Chairman of the Boards and their Falcon Award. Watsabaugh graduated from Jackson Hole High School in 2007. He was a 3A West All-Conference basketball player and a two-year letterman on the hardwood. He also lettered in football as a junior. He excelled academically and was on the honor roll all four years of high school. Personal: Watsabaugh was born on August 16, 1989 in Jackson, Wyo. He is the son of Nancy and Willy, and has a brother Tom. He also has two step brothers, Justin and Brad, and a step sister, Beth. He is majoring in kinesiology and health promotions at UW. |
