LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - Freshman Jason Straight scored a career-high 24 points to guide Wyoming past Colorado State 95-72 on Saturday.

The Cowboys (11-4, 2-0 Mountain West Conference) dashed to a 14-2 lead in the opening minutes and never looked back.

The narrowest margin, late in the first half, was 23-16 on four free throws and a basket by Brian Greene, who finished with 16 points to lead the Rams (8-7, 0-1).

Wyoming entered the second period ahead 32-23, then launched a 16-4 run to make the score 48-27. The lead grew to as much as 78-51 with 6:43 left.

Wyoming outshot Colorado State 55 percent to 37 percent on field goals and 56 percent to 40 percent from 3-point range.

After Straight, Josh Davis scored 19 and Donta Richardson had 17 for the Cowboys. Uche Nsonwu-Amadi contributed 11 rebounds.

For the Rams, Ronnie Clark added 15 points and Andy Birley had 13.
