Box Score

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Brett McFall scored eight points in the last 45 seconds and Uche Nsonwu-Amadi beat up New Mexico inside for 22 points Monday to lead Mountain West Conference front-runner Wyoming to an 82-78 win.

Wyoming (14-4, 5-1 MWC) used its imposing front line _ led by the 6-10, 260-pound Nsonwu-Amadi _ to shoot 62 percent in the second half.

New Mexico (13-5, 3-2) got 19 points from Ruben Douglas, 15 from Marlon Parmer and 14 from Brian Smith. Parmer kept the Lobos close over the final five minutes, consistently scoring on drives through the key or from the foul line.

But the Lobos had no one to slow down Nsonwu-Amadi, who was 9-for-9 from the field, most of them layups and dunks. The sophomore from Nigeria also had 11 rebounds.

McFall finished off the Lobos with his late scoring. With Wyoming leading 74-72, he hit a 22-foot 3-pointer with 45 seconds left. New Mexico answered with a layup from freshman Alvin Broussard, but McFall kept the Cowboys in front by hitting five of six free throws the rest of the way.

McFall's 3-pointer was set up by an offensive rebound by teammate Josh Davis, who wrestled the ball away from Broussard.

Marcus Bailey added 16 points for the Cowboys, 12 of them in the second half. His layup with 2:14 left put Wyoming in front for good at 74-72.
