LARAMIE, Wyo. - Marcus Bailey scored 16 points and had three dunks during a 16-0 second-half run as Wyoming survived a cold-shooting night to beat Denver 70-55 on Monday.

Uche Nsonwu-Amadi also scored 16 points and had 13 rebounds, while Brett McFall added 10 points for Wyoming (2-0). Josh Davis had 14 rebounds and nine points for the Cowboys.

Wyoming shot 35 percent but Denver was worse at 31 percent.

Arthur Ireland's 12 points, all in the first half, led Denver (1-2). Steve Simmons had nine points and 12 rebounds for the Pioneers.

Wyoming's running game, dormant in the first half, got uncorked after intermission.

Bailey's three fast break-ending dunks came as the Cowboys scored the first 16 points of the second half to take a 43-26 lead with 14:50 remaining.

During the run, Wyoming forced six missed shots and three turnovers.

B.J. Pratt's driving basket and free throw finally put the Pioneers on the board in the closing half at the 14:31 mark.

Denver closed to within six, 48-42, on a layup by Kevin Overton but McFall's 3-pointer lifted the Cowboys back up by nine.

Denver would get no closer than seven the rest of the way.

A sloppy first half left Wyoming clinging to a 27-26 lead, despite shooting only 29 percent.
