Non-Conference Home Winning Streak: With its 5-0 home record this season,
the Wyoming Cowboys completed their non-conference home schedule undefeated
for the second consecutive season. Wyoming posted a 6-0 non-confernce home
record for the 1999-2000 season.
Wyoming has now defeated the last 17 consecutive non-conference
opponents to visit the Arena-Auditorium.
Cowboy Home Winning Streak Improves to Ten Games: The Wyoming Cowboys have
built a 10-game home winning streak in the Arena-Auditorium, dating back to
Jan. 29, 2000, when they defeated San Diego State 93-87.
Wyoming ended the 1999-2000 season with a five-game winning streak.
Wyoming defeated San Diego State, UNLV, Air Force, BYU and Utah in its last
five home games of the '99-2000 season. The Cowboys
have begun the 2000-01 season with five home victories to stretch their home
winning streak to 10 games.
The last time Wyoming won 10 consecutive home games was from the end
of the 1998-99 season through the beginning of the 1999-2000 season. That
streak ran from a Feb. 25, 1999, home win over Air Force through a Jan. 13,
2000, home victory over New Mexico.
UW's next home game will be Jan. 20, 2001, when they host Utah on an
ESPN Regional (ERT) telecast beginning at 1:00 p.m., Mountain time.

Wyoming and Utah have a history of playing on ESPN's Big Monday.
The last time the two teams met was in an ESPN Big Monday game on Feb. 28,
2000, in a game won by Wyoming 88-61 in Laramie.
Also in the 1995-96 season, Wyoming hosted Utah on Big Monday on
Feb. 12, 1996. That game also was played in Laramie, with Wyoming winning
80-76.
Cowboys 9-2 Record Matches Best Start in McClain Era, A Win Versus LSU Would
Give Cowboys Best Start in McClain Era: Wyoming's 9-2 record matches the
best start by a Steve McClain team at Wyoming. In McClain's first season
(1998-99), Wyoming started out 9-2. Last season (1999-2000), the Cowboys
were 7-4 through 10 games.
McClain's '98-'99 squad went on to lose its 12th game of the season
to go to 9-3. A year ago, Wyoming was 8-4 after 12 games.
Notes From This Week in Cowboy Basketball:
*Wyoming concluded its non-conference home schedule undefeated for
the 2000-01 season. UW posted a 5-0 home record against non-conference
opponents this season. It is the second consecutive season that Wyoming has
been undefeated at home in non-conference competition. The Cowboys have
defeated the last 17 consecutive non-conference opponents to visit the
Arena-Auditorium. UW head coach Steve McClain has posted a 17-1 (.944) home
record in non-conference games at UW.
*The Cowboys improved their home winning streak to 10 games with
their 72-65 victory over Wichita State on Dec. 30, 2000. The winning streak
dates back to a 93-87 home victory over San Diego State on Jan. 29, 2000.
*A balanced attack has been a key attribute for the Wyoming Cowboys
thus far in the 2000-01 season. All five Wyoming starters scored in double
figures in an 81-73 road win over Akron on Dec. 23, 2000. The five starters
and their scoring totals versus Akron were: Ugo Udezue (14 points), Josh
Davis (10 points), Uche Nsonwu-Amadi (16 points), Chris McMillian (11
points) and Marcus Bailey (12 points).
*For the season, Wyoming has had eight different individuals score
in double figures during this season.
*Junior forward Ugo Udezue recorded his first double-double of the
season when he scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds against Akron on
Dec. 23, 2000. It was the 10th double-double of his career. The junior
received a medical hardship a year ago after undergoing knee surgery. He
has slowly been playing himself back into form, and is currently averaging
7.1 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.
*Wyoming junior point guard Chris McMillian started his 70th
consecutive game in Wyoming's 72-65 victory over Wichita State on Dec. 30,
2000.
