Cowboy Basketball Season Ticket Sales Highest In Over 10 Years

Dec. 14, 2000

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

Enthusiasm for Wyoming Cowboy basketball is extremely high, and that excitement has been reflected in season-ticket sales, according to UW Athletics Director Lee Moon.

Moon indicated that Cowboy fans have purchased more season tickets this year than at any time since the 1987-88, campaign. This year's total has reached 3,906, almost 600 more than last year's total.

"That number is a great indication of how excited our fans are about what Steve McClain and his team are doing," Moon said. "Everyone has been looking forward to this season, especially in the Double A which is sure to be very special experience. The program has produced a quality product, and our fans have responded enthusiastically."

The Cowboys have nine home games remaining for the 2000-2001 season. Delaware State is the next opponent in the Arena-Auditorium, scheduled for next Tuesday, December 19 (7 p.m.). Following a Dec. 30, game with Wichita State (7 p.m.), the Cowboys open the Mountain West Conference schedule, January 20, hosting Utah, for a 1 p.m. tipoff.
