UW This Season: Wade Betschart returns as one of the top tight ends/h-backs in the Mountain West Conference in 2007. He earned Second Team All-Mountain West Conference honors as a junior in `06. The Torrington, Wyo., native will also be one of the leaders of the Cowboys as a senior. He has started 17 of 35 career games, including 11 of 12 in `06. The only game he didn't start as a junior was when Wyoming began the game in a four wide receiver set versus Air Force. Betschart enters his senior season having played in all 35 games during his Wyoming career.

His best receiving performances of the season included: a three-reception, 29-yard performance versus Utah; a three-catch, 16-yard and one TD day in a 27-24 win over San Diego State; and a two-reception, 22-yard day at Virginia.

2005: As a sophomore, he started five games, and appeared in all 11 for the Cowboys during the 2005 season. He caught seven passes for 72 yards, with two of his receptions going for touchdowns -- one versus Ole Miss and one against UNLV. His best game was versus UNLV as he caught two passes for 40 yards and one TD. He teamed with senior tight end John Wadkowski to form one of the best and most experienced tight end/h-back combinations in the Mountain West Conference in `05. Betschart and Wadkowski combined for 21 catches, 227 yards and three touchdowns.

2004: Betschart joined the Cowboy football program in the spring of 2004. He stepped right into the Cowboy system, and was a solid contributor his freshman season.
