UW This Season: Greg Bolling's experience and big-play ability could play a major factor in the Wyoming offense in 2008. The junior to be missed all of 2008 spring drills as he was working to earn his academic eligibility back. Entering the summer of `08, Bolling had been readmitted to the University of Wyoming and upon completion of summer school it is hoped he will have fully regained his eligibility. He would likely be the No. 1 receiver at the "X" receiver position upon his return. 2007: As a sophomore, Bolling ranked second on the Cowboy squad in both receptions (35) and receiving yards (375). He ranked second only to senior wide receiver Michael Ford in both categories. Bolling had two touchdown catches on the year -- one versus Virginia and one against Utah State. His best games of the year came against Utah State (six receptions for 79 yards), at Boise State (six receptions for 59 yards) and at Ohio (six receptions for 47 yards). 2006: Bolling played in 10 of Wyoming's 12 games his true freshman season. He had one reception for no yards versus BYU for his only catch of the season playing behind a veteran receiving corps of juniors Michael Ford and Hoost Marsh and senior Tyler Holden. High School: Greg Bolling was an outstanding two-way player as a quarterback and defensive back at Gateway High School in Aurora, Colo. As a defensive back in 2005, he was named by the Denver Post to its All-Colorado Team for all classifications. He was also named to the First Team Class 5A All-State team by the Denver Post -- 5A is the largest classification in the state of Colorado. The Rocky Mountain News selected him as an Honorable Mention 5A All-State performer as a defensive back. Bolling also achieved First Team All-Conference as a quarterback in 2005. His junior season, he earned All-State honors as a wide receiver, and that is the position he is projected to play at Wyoming. Another former Denver-area high school quarterback who earned All-State honors in high school just concluded an outstanding career as a wide receiver at Wyoming -- that was former Cowboy Jovon Bouknight, who played quarterback at Manual High School in Denver. Bolling comes to Wyoming from the same high school -- Gateway High School in Aurora, Colo. -- as former Wyoming running back Marques Brigham, who ranks No. 2 in Wyoming history in career rushing yards with 2,605. Bolling led Gateway to a 9-3 record in 2005 and the quarterfinals of the 5A State Playoffs, defeating Poudre High School 34-15 in the first round of state before losing to Grandview 13-33 in the quarterfinals. He was coached in high school by Jeff Sweet. Other schools which recruited Bolling were Colorado and Tulsa.
