UW This Season: Jacob Bonde returns for his senior year, having played in the last 24 consecutive games for the Cowboys. He has started 13 of 28 career games over the past three seasons at defensive tackle. Bonde will help give the Cowboys a very experienced defensive line unit in 2004. This year, with the move of fellow senior Zach Morris to defensive tackle from noseguard, Bonde and Morris will combine to form an outstanding defensive tackle duo. 2003: Bonde started all 12 games at defensive tackle for Wyoming. He accounted for 29 total tackles, 13 solos and 16 assists. Included among his 29 tackles were five tackles for losses of 13 yards and one sack of nine yards. He was extremely effective at batting down opponent pass attempts, breaking up five pass attempts at the line of scrimmage to lead all Cowboy defensive linemen and rank No. 2 on the entire team. He also forced one fumble. His best games of the season were against Montana State and Boise State, recording five tackles and one pass deflection in each game. Against Montana State, he also forced a fumble. He was credited with four tackles against both Oklahoma State and Kansas. 2002: Bonde made the most of his playing time by recording 22 tackles, 14 solos and eight assists. He had two tackles for loss, had a half sack for eight yards and forced one fumble against The Citadel. 2001: Bonde played in four games as a true freshman, including the final three of the season. His best game of the year came in the season finale at Kansas, which was also the first start of his career. He made four tackles, three solos and one assist, against the Jayhawks. Bonde had a total of six tackles for the season. High School: Bonde was a Second Team All-Conference selection as a senior at Cherry Creek High School. He led his team with nine sacks, and also recorded 50 tackles. He added three fumble recoveries for head coach Rocky Martin. He lettered in wrestling and competed in baseball during the summer.
