His senior year, he was credited with 56 tackles, intercepted six passes, had 16 pass breakups and returned one kickoff for a touchdown. He helped lead Plano to a 7-4 record and the first round of the state playoffs. His name was placed on the Plano Senior High Wall of Honor following his senior season for earning All-District Collin County honors in football. His junior season, Burns made 46 tackles, intercepted two passes and broke up 14 other passes. He earned Second Team All-District his junior season, as his team went 5-8 on the season. His sophomore year, he was part of a 10-2 team that advanced to the second round of the state playoffs. He played for head coach Jaydon McCullough at Plano Senior High. Personal: The son of Paulette and Arthur Burns, he has one younger sister, Brandi. His dad played baseball at Mississippi Valley State. Burns was also recruited by Louisiana Monroe and Texas Tech. |
