UW This Season: Dan Fisher is expected to challenge for a starting position at left guard in the fall of 2004. Fisher missed 2004 spring drills do to undergoing offseason knee surgery to repair the torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee.

2003: Fisher was one of the most improved players during 2003 spring drills. He entered the fall as the starter at right tackle, but suffered a torn ACL and ended up playing only the first two games of the season, starting both. He has added nearly 50 pounds to his frame after being signed by the Cowboys as a 255-pound tight end in the spring of 2001.

2002: Saw action in Wyoming's final five games of the 2002 season as a backup offensive lineman. Earned his first varsity letter.

2001: Redshirted.

High School: Fisher received a number of awards his senior season at Gering High School earning All-State, All-Region, All-Conference and All-District honors. He was also elected team captain as a senior. Fisher had 23 receptions for 289 yards and five touchdowns his senior year as a tight end. Fisher also played basketball, ran track and played American Legion baseball. He was coached in high school by Kevin Finkey. Other schools who recruited him were Colorado State, Iowa and Northwestern.

Personal: Born Aug. 24, 1982, he is the son of Deborah Fisher. Fisher is majoring in physical and health education-teaching.
