UW This Season: David James came off of his redshirt year to earn a place on the Wyoming depth chart entering the 2009 season. He is slated to backup junior Marcell Gipson at boundary cornerback entering his redshirt freshman season.

2008: Redshirted.

High School: James played his high school football at Edmond Memorial High School in Edmond, Okla., a suburb of Oklahoma City. James excelled in all three facets of the game, playing free safety on defense, wide receiver on offense and returning punts and kicks. His senior season, he recorded 44 tackles and had an interception on the defensive side of the ball. On offense, he caught 29 passes for 432 yards (14.9 yards per catch) and caught five touchdown passes. He also rushed for 183 yards and a touchdown and had 245 return yards. James has exceptional speed, boasting a 100-meter time of 10.65. He was also recruited by Iowa State, Rice and Tulsa. He played high school football for head coach Mark Walker.

Personal: Born May 26, 1990, he is the son of Barbara and David James. His sister, Whitney, played basketball at the University of Houston. James has not decided on a college major.
