Class 5A is the largest classification in Colorado. He also was named All-Conference both as an offensive and defensive linemen as a senior, and earned Honorable Mention Academic All-State. Jones was credited with 110 pancake blocks his senior year. He led Lakewood High to an 8-2 record and the first round of the state playoffs. A four-year letterwinner in football and track and field, his junior year he placed ninth at the state championships in the discus and 10th in the shot put. As a sophomore, he earned Honorable Mention All-Conference honors, was named his team's Lineman of the Year and was an Honorable Mention Academic All-State selection. He played for head football coach Mark Robinson at Lakewood High. Personal: The son of Linda and Bill Jones, he has one older brother, Ransom, and one younger sister, Emily. Jones was also recruited by Air Force and Oregon State. |
