Prince Ledbetter was a First Team All-District and First Team All-Conference receiver at Cardinal Ritter Prep School. He finished his senior season with 20 catches for 326 yards and six touchdowns. As a safety, he recorded 92 tackles, and intercepted three opponent passes. An indication of Ledbetter's toughness was displayed when he played four games with a broken wrist and arm without telling anyone. He has been timed at 4.5 in the 40-yard dash, and has a 39" vertical jump. An excellent blocker, as well as receiver. Cardinal Ritter was 6-4 in the St. Louis Triple A League his senior season. In track and field, he excells at the 400 meters and high jump. He has two brothers, Isaac and Israel Byrd, who both played in the NFL. Isaac Byrd was a wide receiver at the University of Kansas, and went on to play for the Tennessee Titans from 1997-99. Israel Byrd played his college football at Utah State, and was later a cornerback for the New Orleans Saints from 1993-95. Ledbetter was coached in high school by Ron Dillers. The son of Relanda Ledbetter. He was also recruited by Duke, Indiana and Northern Illinois. |
