UW This Season: Tyler Phillips is a young wide receiver from Pius X High School in Lincoln, Neb. He is still maturing physically, measuring 6' 4" and 177 pounds. But he has the credentials from high school and the football skills to develop into a solid college receiver. 2003: Redshirted. High School: Phillips earned All-State and All-City honors as a wide receiver at Pius X High in Lincoln. He led the city in receiving, and ranked second in state as a senior. Also a talented basketball player, Phillips was selected All-City, while leading his high school team to a second-place finish at state in 2002. He lettered two years each in football, basketball and baseball. Phillips was also an honor student his senior year at Pius X. He was coached in high school by head football coach Tim Aylward. He was also recruited by Air Force. Personal: Born Oct. 24, 1984, he is one of three children of Mary and Don Phillips. Phillips is majoring in business administration. |
