UW This Season: Matt Sando walked on to the Wyoming football team in the fall of 2007. He practiced throughout the `07 season, and went through his first spring drills with the Cowboys in the spring of 2008. He is a highly-intelligent player, who will add depth for the Cowboys at the wide receiver position.

2007: Redshirted.

High School: Sando played his high school football at Webster Schroeder High School in Webster, N.Y. A two-year letterman, he was elected a team captain his senior season. While in high school, he received the John Boomer Award, which is presented to the student who displays the strongest combination of outstanding citizenship and academic achievement. Sando also earned his high school's Scholar Athlete Award, and was presented the Ashton Scaccia Award, representing the "Ultimate Teammate". In 2006, he was elected a Model United Nations Judge. In `05, he was presented the Model United Nations Best Delegate award. He played for head football coach Chris Urban at Webster Schroeder High School.

Personal: Born Sept. 8, 1988, he is one of four children of Barbara and James Sando. His father is a physician. He plans to study chemistry at UW.
