UW This Season: Jake Schiffner walked on to the Cowboy Football team in 2010, and will provide depth at the cornerback position in 2011. 2010: Redshirted. High School: Schiffner was a three-time letterwinner for coach Rick Crawford at Centennial High School and helped guide the team to two postseason appearances. As a senior, Schiffner notched 95 tackles and four pass breakups to be named the team's defensive MVP. He recorded 25 tackles as a junior and 20 as a sophomore. In the spring of his junior season, he was credited with 35 tackles to help his club team to a city championship. Schiffner also lettered in rugby as a senior while leading the team to a 5-1 record and postseason berth in its inaugural season. Personal: Born on April 19, 1991, Jake is the son of Toria and Glenn Schiffner and has one sister. He was also recruited by Western Michigan and Northern Illinois. He is majoring in marketing. |
