UW This Season: Braden Shoop walked on to the Wyoming Football team as a place-kicker in the fall of 2007. He was listed No. 2 on the depth chart at place-kicker coming out of `08 spring practice. He will be competing with junior Jake Scott and incoming freshman Austin McCoy for the place-kicking duties once fall practice begins.

2007: Redshirted.

High School: Shoop earned two letters in football and three in track and field at Summit High School in Breckenridge, Colo. He led Summit High in scoring, with 73 points, and converted eight of 11 field goals his senior season. Also an outstanding cornerback, he was credited with 66 tackles and intercepted four passes in 2006 to earn First Team All-Conference and All-State Class 3A honors his senior season. He helped lead Summit High to a 12-1 record and a spot in the semifinals of the state playoffs in `06. Summit High posted a perfect 10-0 regular-season record to capture the Central Metro Conference 3A Championship. Shoop was named a Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) Academic All-State honoree his senior season. He was an Honorable Mention Academic All-State honoree as a junior. In track and field, he was elected a team captain and was named his high school's Outstanding Track and Field Athlete as a high jumper his senior season. He played for head football coach Dylan Hollingsworth.

Personal: Born Sept. 1, 1988, he is the son of Deborah and Kirkton Shoop. He plans to study business at Wyoming.
