UW This Season: Anthony Smith joined Wyoming Football as a walkon in the spring of 2008 after transferring from Victor Valley Community College in California. He came to UW as a running back, but was switched to wide receiver in Wyoming's new spread offense. 2008: Smith didn't appear in any games in 2008. Junior College: Smith played one season at Victor Valley Community College in Victorville, Calif., where he was enjoying an excellent season as a return specialist before being injured. He played for head coach Dave Hoover. High School: At Palo Verde High School in Las Vegas, Nev., Smith was part of a team that posted a perfect 12-0 record his senior season on way to a Nevada State Championship. His Palo Verde team also advanced to the state semifinals both his sophomore and junior seasons. In addition to football, Smith ran track all four years of high school, and was in the honors program at Palo Verde High his junior and senior seasons. Personal: Born Sept. 26, 1987, he is the oldest of two sons of Lana Howard. Smith is majoring in theatre at Wyoming. |
