High School: Eddie Yarbrough was one of the select individuals in the state of Colorado to be named to The Denver Post All-Colorado All-State First Team for all classifications in 2010. The Denver Post also named Yarbrough to the First Team All-State squad in Class 5A, the largest classification in Colorado. Rivals.com ranked Yarbrough as the 31st best outside linebacker in the nation with a three-star rating. Rivals also ranked Yarbrough as the No. 6 overall recruit in the state of Colorado at all positions, and the No. 2 ranked linebacker in the state of Colorado. Yarbrough played linebacker in high school, but is projected as a defensive end in college and has already begun to add weight to move to defensive end. He currently weighs in at 265 pounds. He helped lead Grandview to an 8-5 record and the semifinals of the state playoffs his senior season. As a junior, Yarbrough was an Honorable Mention All-State selection by The Denver Post, and his Grandview team posted a 6-5 record, advancing to the second round of the state playoffs. Yarbrough earned four letters in football and lettered two years in track and field. During high school, he was named an Aurora Scholar Athlete. He played for head coach John Schultz at Grandview High.

Personal: The son of Dana and Eddie Yarbrough, he has two sisters, Erica and Amanda. His father played football at Arkansas-Pine Bluff, and his uncle, Raymond Jackson, played football at Colorado State. Yarbrough was also recruited by Arizona State, Colorado, Colorado State, Indiana and Kansas State.
