Cowboys Can't Solve Boise State In 35-13 Loss
Sept 14, 2002
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - Brock Forsey ran for 155 yards and a touchdown as Boise State handed Wyoming its 11th straight loss Saturday, 35-13.
B.J. Rhode, starting for the injured Ryan Dinwiddie, completed 20 of 29 passes for 204 yards and ran for a score, a 1-yard run to cap a third-quarter drive that took up more than 8½ minutes for the Broncos (2-1).
Wyoming (0-3) was led by Casey Bramlet, who passed for a touchdown and ran for another. However, Bramlet had two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown.
The Cowboys' 11-game losing streak ties a school record set during the 1929-30 seasons, and this year's team could have the record all to itself. Wyoming will be a heavy underdog next week when it travels to 14th-ranked Washington.
Forsey's touchdown came on a 1-yard run, capping the Broncos' eight-play, 45-yard opening game drive. Twenty-two seconds later, Travis Burgher picked off Bramlet's pass and ran it back 18 yards for a quick 14-0 lead.
Wyoming answered in the second quarter on a 22-yard TD pass from Bramlet to Brock Ralph. Bramlet finished the game 21-of-42 for 211 yards.
Rhode capped a 19-play drive that ate up 8:46 of the clock in the third quarter with a 1-yard run to put the Broncos up 21-7.
Wyoming opened the final period with a 5-yard TD run by Bramlet, but Boise
State answered with a 3-yard run by David Mikell on a drive highlighted by a
52-yard run by Forsey.
