Spring practice is wrapping up for most college football programs, including the Wyoming Cowboys, who concluded their spring drills on April 16. But it is never too early to start looking ahead to the upcoming college football season. On Thursday, ESPN.com posted some early preseason rankings by their college football experts. Two of ESPN.com's senior writers, Ivan Maisel and Pat Forde, both had the Wyoming Cowboys in their preseason Top 25 rankings.

Maisel picked the Cowboys No. 21, while Forde placed the Pokes in the No. 25 spot in his rankings. Wyoming was the only Mountain West Conference school selected by either Maisel or Forde.

Wyoming returns 19 starters and 48 letterwinners from last year's team that concluded the season with a 7-5 record and a 24-21 victory over UCLA in the 2004 Pioneer PureVision Las Vegas Bowl.
