LARAMIE, Wyo. -

As fans enter War Memorial Stadium on August 30th to watch the Wyoming Cowboy Football team take on Ohio, they are going to notice a lot of changes and improvements. Among these improvements will be an experimental post-game tailgate party, referred to as the "5th Quarter."

"At the end of last season we conducted a fan survey in which many requested an alternative to standing in long lines at restaurants following the games," said Kevin McKinney, UW Senior Associate Athletics Director of External Affairs. "In response, we have created these post-game tailgate parties as a convenience to our fans."

The "5th Quarter" will be similar to the pre-game tailgate parties in the vendors, food choices and games available for children. It will also be held in the same location as all UW pre-game tailgate parties, the practice fields on the south end of War Memorial Stadium. However, they will feature a family atmosphere, as they will be alcohol free.

The 2008 football season will feature three "5th Quarter" tailgate parties. In addition to the Ohio game, a post-game party will be held following the North Dakota State game on September 13 and the Utah game on October 11.

For more information on the "5th Quarter" post-game tailgating parties, please contact University of Wyoming Sports Properties at (307) 766-5020.
