He had an up and down beginning of the season placing in the top 75 in his first four tournaments before having an excellent final tournament of the season. He played his first collegiate rounds at the Battle in the Tetons where he shot a 243 (+27) which finished him in 53rd place. Hedge's next tournament, the Colorado Invitational, he fired his first round of par on the season shooting a 72 (E) in the first round. He finished the CU invite with a final score of 225 (+9) finishing him in a tie for 53rd place. At the Nevada Wolf Pack Classic, Hedge began the tournament with a career-low round of 69 (-3). He fired scores of 75 (+3) and 76 (+4) in the final two rounds giving him a final tally of 220 (+4), which finished him in a tie for seventh place. He finished the fall season carrying a 76.46 stroke average. 2010-11 (Freshman): Hedge redshirted his freshman season to improve his game. High School: Hedge came to the University of Wyoming from Billings, Mont., where he enjoyed a tremendous prep career. He attended Billings West High School where he was a member of four consecutive Montana State Championship golf teams. During the 2008 season, Billings West was unstoppable and won every tournament in which they competed. Hedge was an All-State performer all four years of his high school career. He also won the 2A Montana State Championship as a freshman. Hedge not only excelled on the golf course in high school but also in the classroom graduating as a member of National Honors Society. Personal: Hedge was born on May 1, 1991 in Billings, Montana. He is the son of John and Kathy and has two brothers, Seth and Josh, and a sister, Ashley. He is planning on majoring in accounting at UW. |
