Jonathan Shuss Class: RS Senior Hometown: Scottsdale, Ariz. High School: Cactus Shadows Height: 6-2

2005-06 (Redshirt Senior): Shuss is an experienced team player who will have the opportunity to work his way into the Cowboy lineup this spring. Jonathan benefited from a redshirt season and can step in at any point for Wyoming as a mature golfer, with a background in the Mountain West Conference.

2004-05 (Senior): Shuss used his redshirt year at UW.

2003-04 (Junior): Shuss played in seven of 11 tournaments for the Cowboys and completed the year with his best career stroke average, 76.45. He finished up the 2003 fall season with the best tournament total of his Wyoming career -- a one-over par total of 217 at the Fresno State Lexus Golf Classic. Shuss fired rounds of 73, 70 and 74 at Fresno, and placed 33rd in a field of 96 collegiate golfers. His second round 70 at Fresno was also the best collegiate round he has shot during his three-year Wyoming career.

2002-03 (Sophomore): The Scottsdale, Ariz., native played in nine of 11 tournaments for the Pokes during his sophomore season. He posted two top 25 finishes, placing 22nd at the Rocky Mountain Invitational in Denver and 25th at the Nebraska Fairway Club Invitational. Shuss posted the fifth best stroke average on the team, with a 77.1 average over 27 rounds.

2001-02 (Freshman): Shuss competed in nine of 10 tournaments during his freshman season. He saved his best tournament of the season for last, posting a six-over par score of 222 to place 20th at the 2002 Mountain West Conference Championship. His 20th-place showing helped the Cowboys place fifth in the eight-team MWC field. Shuss also enjoyed a good tournament at the Hawaii Intercollegiate, shooting an eight-over par total of 224.

High School: Shuss was a big part of a dominant Cactus Shadows High golf squad for four years. He received Arizona All-State honors his sophomore through senior seasons, and was a four-time All-Conference selection. As a junior, Shuss led a State Champion Cactus Shadows team that broke the Arizona state tournament scoring record by 51 strokes. Shuss's Cactus Shadows teams finished as the state runner-up his sophomore season, third his freshman year and fifth his senior year.

Personal: Born Aug. 1, 1982, his parents are Ginni and Steve Shuss. He chose UW over the University of Illinois, Drake University and the United States Air Force Academy. Majoring in marketing.
